Google Begins Testing Instant Apps Feature for Android

Back at Google I/O, Google teased a little feature called "Instant Apps" that will be making its way to Android devices. After a long wait, Google is ready to begin testing this feature out with a small number of partners.

For those who don't know what the Instant Apps feature is about, it's Google's way of breaking native apps into small packets that can be run instantaneously just by tapping on the URL. The best part about this feature is that it would work even if the user does not have the corresponding app installed on his or her device.

The test run for Instant Apps will center around apps developed by BuzzFeed, Wish, Periscope and Viki. Throughout the test, Google will be receiving feedback from users in order to improve upon the feature.

Unfortunately though, the developers who are looking to try out Instant Apps won't be able to join this early testing stage. In the meantime, those who are interested in getting their hands on the Instant Apps SDK can apply here. On top of that, Google has also published a guideline that would help you prepare your app for Instant Apps implementation.
