Gboard now comes with Google's search app for iOS
Gboard has been available for iOS devices since August as a third-party app, giving iOS users access to Google's own keyboard that comes with some rather handy features. Today, iOS users can gain access to Gboard without needing to download the application itself, as the iOS Google app has been updated to include Gboard integration.
If your version of the Google app has been updated to the latest version, you'll be able to access Gboard in the Keyboard settings found in the iOS Settings page. Once you're on the Keyboard page, choose the option to add a new keyboard and select Google.
Should it be done properly, you'll now be able to use Gboard outside of the Google app. Alternatively, you can always switch back to the standard iOS keyboard or any other third-party keyboard by tapping on the globe icon located at the bottom left-hand side of Gboard.
For those who have both the Google app and Gboard app installed, we recommend deleting the Gboard app as there is little reason to have two copies of Google's keyboard installed on your device.
